Leader Lift
Pastors and Christian leaders spend their lives encouraging others, yet often carry their own burdens alone. Leader Lift provides confidential quarterly coaching and encouragement calls with Dr. Dave Currie, offering a trusted voice, ministry perspective, prayer support, and nearly 50 years of ministry experience to help strengthen your life, family, faith, and leadership.
Rationale for the Calls
I believe that making these calls is a prompting from the Lord on my life in this season of my ministry. I deeply desire to encourage and pray for PASTORS and CHRISTIAN LEADERS – to bring a Leader Lift. On July 15, 2026, it will be 50 years in full-time ministry for me. Thus, I have been in the pastoral and ministry
leadership trenches a long time, know many of your battles and I recall many occasions where it felt like I was going it alone. It seemed that no one really understood the various challenges of what being in the ministry required of me. I believe through our connection in life and ministry, that God has called me to put you on the list to bring a spiritual lift to you in any way I can.
Spirit of the Calls
Over the last 12-15 years, through my counselling practice and through meeting and working with many pastors and leaders in places I am invited to speak, I have seen an increase of hurting ‘shepherds.’ At one point, a few years back, I had personally counselled 23 different pastors and Christian leaders in an 18-month period through a host of issues. Many are facing challenges that they desired another perspective on and needed a safe place to talk, even unload. I want to be a listening ear toward becoming a lifting voice. In no way am I saying I have all the answers – please hear that! Clearly though, I have a sincere heart for hurting shepherds and genuinely want to lift you, as one of these leaders, in a God-honouring way. That is the impetus behind Leader Lift.
Purpose of the Calls
It is my desire through Leader Lift to be a regular encouragement in your life serving you in any number of roles. My support could include but is not limited to serving as: Life Coach, Ministry Coach, Leadership Coach, Vision Coach, Transitions Coach, Spiritual Coach, Crisis Coach, Marriage Coach, Family Coach,
Balance Coach, Emotional Well-being Coach, Addictions Coach, Staffing Coach, Personal Growth Coach, Longevity Coach and any more. I know…pretty presumptuous, but the point is…you are welcome to bounce anything by me.
Remember, in no way am I saying I have all the answers – though education and experience might suggest I may have some. Plain and simple – let me try to encourage you.
Agenda of the Calls
There is only one agenda with Leader Lift – It is YOU – your life, your faith, your ministry, your family, your challenges, your well-being. You will have the opportunity to share how you are doing in your life: first the highlights, joys and victories. Then, life’s hurdles, stresses and challenges. We can slide into any number of the purposes listed above as you desire. I merely want to walk with you giving you my time, my interest, my experience, my support and my prayer.
Biblical Underpinnings for Calls
Here are a sampling of verses that validate having solid ‘perspective-bringers’ in your life. I desire to be both grace and grit as needed. I am targeting encouragement, coaching and prayer at the heart of Leader Lift.
Romans 1:11-12 – I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong– that is,
that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith.
1 Thess. 5:11 – Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.
Hebrews 10:25-26 – Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage
one another–and all the more as you see the Day approaching. If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have
received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left,
Galatians 6:1-2 – Brothers, if someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual should restore him gently. But
watch yourself, or you also may be tempted. Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way, you will fulfill the law of
Christ.
James 5:16 – Therefore, confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The
prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.
Wise Proverbs on the Benefits of Receiving a Lift as a Leader
Proverbs 9:9 –Instruct a wise man and he will be wiser still; teach a righteous man and he will add to his
learning.
Proverbs 15:31, 32 – He who listens to a life-giving rebuke will be at home among the wise. He who ignores
discipline despises himself, but whoever heeds correction gains understanding.
Proverbs 16:20 – Whoever gives heed to instruction prospers, and blessed is he who trusts in the LORD.
Proverbs 19:20, 21 – Listen to advice and accept instruction, and in the end you will be wise. Many are the plans
in a man’s heart, but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails.
Proverbs 27:17 – As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.
Benefits of the Calls
For you as Pastor or Christian Leader, how good to have someone to support you in all the
challenges that your place of ministry can bring. Through Leader Lift, it is my deep desire to be in your corner and
become a trusted voice of encouragement.

Topics of Calls
No topic is off limits with Leader Lift. You can bring up anything that you might find helpful to have another’s perspective on. Remember YOU, your life, your family, your ministry, your well-being – YOU are the agenda.
Format of Calls
Leader Lift video calls will be quarterly thus connecting 4 times/year.
Frequency of Calls
Leader Lift video calls will be quarterly thus connecting 4 times/year.
Timing of Calls
Leader Lift calls will be made every 3 months on Tuesday or Thursday mornings at a time that works for you. Toward the end of each call, our next call will be scheduled together.
Length of Calls
Leader Lift video calls are scheduled for 25-30 minutes as needed.
Termination of Calls
We will have a discussion after the 3 rd video call to determine the value of the call to your life and where they can be improved to be more helpful to you. Calls will continue only as you feel they will be a benefit to your life and ministry. Opting out of the Leader Lift program will be up to you.
